Using Rentalo.com to find a place to stay is easy! There are 2 ways to go about that, as shown below:
Browse individual property listings
If you have some time in your hands, you should browse our property listings in the destination of your choice.
Step 1: Search to find your destination
- Type the name of the city or town in the search box found in our home page
Step 2: Once you get the destination page e.g. orlando, you will be able to browse individual listings
You may also narrow your options using our SmartSearch box (found on the left side) to reduce the number of listings that match your needs using filters such as budget, number of rooms, etc.
Inquire on multiple properties at once:
If you do not have too much time to find the perfect place to stay, we recommend that you use our "Inquire on multiple properties" form found on our destination pages. Within minutes form submitting this form you will start receiving offers/quotes form owners that have the properties that meet your specific lodging needs. You may also use our Lodging Finder service which works the same way as the "Inquire on multiple properties".
How do I contact an owner?
Once you find a property you like, you can contact the owner and/or property manager directly using the following methods:
Via Email - Use the 'Contact Owner' form (right side of the property page)
Via Phone - Click the "Contact Owner" link on the grey bar of the property page to find other contact options. If owner provides us with a contact phone number, it will be displayed under "Contact by phone" tab.
Via Website - Again, click the "Contact Owner" link on the grey bar of the property page to find other contact options. If owner provides us with a website, it will be displayed under "Visit property website" tab.
Rentalo is constantly working with our listing owners in order to improve the information available to travelers such as rates, availability and contact info. However, we only facilitates the exchange of information between you and the property owners. However, it is the owner's responsibility to post their information on the listings.
If you already sent an inquiry via the 'Contact Owner" form, you need to allow time for the owner to reply. Usually, owners reply within 4 - 8 hours, but it may take longer, please be patience. If it's been longer than 24 or 48 hours, please consider using our Lodging Finder service to send your inquiry to other owners in the destination that may be able to help you find a place for your stay.
How long should I wait for a reply from an owner?
According to our stats, 85% owners respond to email inquiries within 4 to 8 hours. However, 15% of owners do take up to 48 hours or longer to respond. If you send an email inquiry, please be patient if you are within the 48 hour window.
Also, if there is a telephone number, please try calling the property owners directly and inquire about the property or properties you are interested in. (Phone numbers, when available, can be found by clicking on the 'Contact owner' link/tab at the top of the individual listing).
If you sent an inquiry more than 48 hours ago, and have not received a response, we recommend that you use our free lodging finder service to receive quotes from other owners in the location (or nearby) that can meet your specific lodging needs.
How can I protect my booking?

Tips to avoid rental scams and/or frauds
Below are some tips and recommendations for travelers and property owners to prevent potential scams and frauds when inquiring or making reservations/bookings via Rentalo:
• Avoid wiring funds via Western Union, Moneygram or any other money service that does not offer buyer protection. RENTALO.COM WILL NEVER ASK TRAVELERS TO WIRE MONEY OR SEND CASHIERS CHECKS WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION
• Fake Cashier Checks and Money Orders are commonly used by scam artists - beware of them, as banks will cash them and then hold you responsible when the fake is discovered weeks later.
• Never give out your personal or business financial information (bank account number, social security number, etc) when inquiring or making a reservation.
• When possible, deal locally with folks you can meet in person.
If you suspect that a property ad or a traveler using rentalo.com may be part of a scam, please contact us as soon as possible. Be sure to include the URL (or Rentalo ID number), or Inquiry Reference Number in your message.
• Before sending any form of payment, ask for business references, check online reviews, ask for copies of appropriate business license(s), BBB status, local chamber of commerce contact information, and any other documentation that may serve to verify the legitimacy of the person or business you are dealing with. Then, take the time to verify these documents.

How Rentalo's destination-based inquiry service works? (also referred as wanted ads or lodging finder)?
Rentalo.com's destination-based inquiry service (also called Lodging Finder or wanted ad service) allows travelers to submit an inquiry to multiple properties in a specific destination that match your criteria with one click.
To submit your destination inquiry, follow these steps:
First, you need to find the destination of your choice the "search" button on the top bar.
Once at the destination page, complete the form under "Inquire on multiple properties" and click "Go"
Next, complete the contact information and click "Get Offers" (if this is your first time using RENTalo, you will need to verify your email address via clicking on a link sent your email address).
Upon verifying your email, Rentalo's engine will match your inquiry criteria (e.g. dates, length of stay, etc) and generating offers for you, including detailed information about rates, availability, property features, etc:

Please know that some of our inventory listings may not be visible to travelers at all times however when you inquire, we will match all the listings that match your inquiry criteria.
Most property owners will reply within the next 4 to 8 hours, you may continue to receive offers from our listing owners until you 'de-activate' your inquiry. You can de-activate your inquiry anytime by login into your traveler account and click in the messages tab.
What if I'm unable to check-in – what next?
So, you made a booking via Rentalo.com, and got the final confirmation from the owner, the travel date is here, you take a plane (or drive) to your destination and you can’t get a hold of the property owner. What should you do? Below are some tips and recommendations for you to follow:
PRIOR TO ARRIVAL:
We highly recommend that you contact the property owner prior to the date of your arrival, preferably by phone. The contact information is printed in your booking receipt (if you can’t find it, sign-in to your traveler account in Rentalo.com at http://my.rentalo.com)
DATE OF ARRIVAL:
If you are not able to check-in for whatever reason, first you need to find alternative lodging. Below is the phone number of our reservations desk (open 24 hours):

You will be responsible to covering the cost of the new reservation, however, keep in mind that your booking via Rentalo is protected, and we will process your refund, assuming that you have a valid reason for not being able to checking in. Some of the most common reasons for travelers not being able to check-in are:
- I got lost and wasn't able to arrive at the property.
- My fly was delayed / cancelled and wasn't able to check-in on that date.
- I was not able to get a response from the property owner and/or contact in my booking receipt.
- Etc.
LATER:
After you secure lodging and/or come back from your stay, you need to contact us and explain the situation. We will expedite your request within the next business day.
IMPORTANT: Rentalo's business hours are from 9 am to 7 pm EST, Monday to Friday. If you need any help outside of these hours, you need to contact our reservations desk to help you find alternative accommodations in case something goes wrong during your trip.
